General Description:
The Engineering Assistant Supervisor leads and oversees the daily operations of the Engineering Assistant team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. This position serves as a key liaison between the Engineering Assistants and the other Engineering Department personnel, facilitates workflow optimization, and supports departmental goals through effective management of administrative and operational processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate; additional education or certifications in engineering, management, or related fields is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven leadership experience, with strong organizational and team management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Advanced proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software including but not limited to AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and document management systems.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Typical Duties:

- Team Leadership:
- Coordinate and oversee the workflow of the Engineering Assistants to ensure timely and accurate task completion.
- Train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to the Engineering Assistant team.
- Resolve issues related to workflow, team collaboration, or project delays.
- Administrative Management:
- Ensure accurate creation, control, and management of engineering documents and files.
- Oversee the organization and archiving of active and inactive project files.
- Manage drawing reproduction, tracking, and shipping logistics.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure the proper handling of interoffice mail, outgoing mail, and package deliveries.
- Monitor document control systems and processes for compliance and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the Manager of Engineering to align team activities with departmental objectives.
- Provide regular updates on team performance and operational improvements.
- Support engineering staff with administrative and logistical tasks as needed.
